Prominent Tollywood actor Supreet Reddy, widely recognized for his negative roles, has been booked by the police following allegations of assaulting a cab driver. The incident occurred on Sunday night at the Nagaram Crossroads, falling under the jurisdiction of the Keesara Police Station. Following a formal complaint lodged by the victim, an Uber driver identified as Srihari, the local police registered a case and initiated a comprehensive investigation.
According to police reports, Srihari had parked his car on the roadside at the Nagaram Crossroads to wait for his next booking after completing a trip from Vanasthalipuram to Kundanpalli. At the same time, actor Supreet arrived at the spot in a Fortuner SUV and entered into a heated argument with the driver, questioning why the vehicle was blocking the road.
Victim Alleges Physical Assault and Phone Snatching; Keesara Police Launch Probe
In his official statement to the authorities, the driver, Srihari, alleged that the actor not only verbally abused him using profane language but also physically assaulted him during the altercation. Furthermore, the complainant accused Supreet of forcefully snatching his mobile phone. Immediately following the confrontation, the victim contacted the emergency helpline ‘Dial 100’ to seek police assistance.
A police team rushed to the scene upon receiving the alert and brought the situation under control. Based on the formal written complaint subsequently submitted by the driver, a case was officially registered against the actor. Supreet, who catapulted to fame with his iconic portrayal of ‘Katraj’ in the blockbuster film Chatrapathi, has played antagonist roles in numerous Telugu and Tamil movies.
