International Drug Manufacturing Gang Busted in Rangareddy; Mephedrone Worth ₹50 Lakh Seized

In a major breakthrough aligned with Telangana’s stringent anti-narcotics drive, security and law enforcement agencies successfully uncovered an international drug manufacturing unit operating under the guise of a cosmetic business. A coordinated raid was conducted in the Batasingaram area of Abdullapurmet Mandal, Rangareddy district, by the Telangana Eagle Force, Hyderabad Narcotics Bureau, Malkajgiri Police, and the LB Nagar Zone Clues Team. The operation led to the discovery of a clandestine lab set up inside a shed within a mango grove, where synthetic drugs were being produced under the pretext of manufacturing “Facial Glow Powder.”

According to official sources, the kingpin of this international racket is Keysari Matsyagiri (alias Naresh), a financier from Thirumalagiri in Suryapet district who carries a criminal record spanning over a decade. He reportedly teamed up with Ravula Mahesh, a watchman at the mango grove in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, enticing him with a monthly salary to utilize his residential shed as a makeshift laboratory. The gang procured chemical precursors, raw materials, and laboratory equipment worth ₹60,000 from a supplier named Prabhakar. Using these supplies, they successfully synthesized nearly 750 grams of high-purity Mephedrone from two kilograms of raw chemical mixture.

The illicit operation unraveled when the police laid a trap near the Sri Sai HMDA Weighbridge office in Batasingaram, where Keysari Matsyagiri and his associate, Nimmala Naresh, had arrived to sell the manufactured drugs. The enforcement teams caught them red-handed, seizing 750 grams of Mephedrone valued at ₹50 lakh, along with a car and three mobile phones. A subsequent raid on the mango grove laboratory resulted in the seizure of all chemical apparatus, while a manhunt has been launched to arrest the fleeing accomplices—Santosh Singh, Vijay, and Prabhakar. Investigating officials noted that modern smuggling rings are moving away from traditional communication methods, opting instead for highly secure, end-to-end encrypted applications like ‘Signal’ and ‘Session’ to orchestrate synthetic drug distribution network and evade digital surveillance.
