During official high-profile visits, chief ministers engage in numerous rigid administrative protocols. However, it is the brief, spontaneous personal moments that often stand out and make a tour memorable. Such a light-hearted incident occurred during Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s official visit to Palnadu district on Saturday. While inspecting a natural farming estate, the Chief Minister won hearts by calling his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, before purchasing cold-pressed groundnut oil, jokingly remarking, “Even as Chief Minister, I must consult my wife before buying things for the house.”
The incident took place at Lingamguntla near Chilakaluripeta. As part of the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ program initiative, Chandrababu Naidu visited the natural farming fields of local farmer Gudipalli Nagabhushanam. The farmer detailed how chemical-free organic farming over the last four years significantly lowered investment costs, restored soil fertility, and stabilized crop yields. Appreciating the farmer’s self-sustainable model, the Chief Minister emphasized that scaling up chemical-free natural farming across Andhra Pradesh remains a primary goal for his administration.
During the interaction, Nagabhushanam showcased his traditional organic wooden-press mill used to extract pure groundnut, sesame, and coconut oils. When the farmer requested the Chief Minister to try the product, Naidu placed a phone call to his wife directly from the field before purchasing a one-liter bottle of cold-pressed groundnut oil. Additionally, Naidu visited the cow-based organic farming resource center to review the production of bio-fertilizers like Jeevamrutham. He also toured a papaya plantation on the estate and tasted the fresh produce, highlighting how multi-cropping practices build biodiversity and naturally minimize pest attacks.
