The Andhra Pradesh government has brought incredibly delightful news for employees working in public sector undertakings. In a crucial cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat, the government officially approved a proposal to increase the retirement age of public sector employees from 60 to 62 years. This major policy decision will benefit thousands of individuals serving across various state-run corporations, public sector units (PSUs), and government societies.
Following the high-level meeting, State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha took to her official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account to share the key highlights and outcomes of the cabinet discussion. Alongside the retirement age hike, the state cabinet gave a green signal to massive investment proposals worth ₹34,000 crore entering Andhra Pradesh. This industrial push is anticipated to accelerate regional economic growth and systematically generate over 35,000 new employment opportunities across the state.
Furthermore, the cabinet sanctioned substantial financial packages to strengthen public infrastructure and administrative bodies, including allocating ₹426 crore for infrastructural development in Undavalli and ₹130 crore for the construction of a state-of-the-art Judicial Academy. According to the Home Minister’s social media statement, the cabinet successfully reviewed and approved over 80 crucial agenda items during the comprehensive session. This welfare-focused policy move has sparked wide celebrations and a wave of happiness among state PSU employees.
