BJP Dismisses Prashant Kishor’s Electoral Debut in Bankipur Bypoll

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dismissed the electoral prospects of Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor after he announced that he would contest the upcoming Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar. BJP National spokesperson R.P. Singh claimed that Kishor would receive fewer votes than the “None of the Above” (NOTA) option and alleged that he would even lose his election deposit.

Senior BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain also expressed confidence that the party would retain the Bankipur seat, saying the BJP has held the constituency for nearly three decades. He said the people of Bankipur have consistently supported the BJP and would once again elect the party’s candidate with a comfortable majority. JD(U) leader Chandeshwar Prasad said everyone has the right to contest elections but expressed doubt over Kishor’s chances of winning.

Earlier, Prashant Kishor announced his decision to make his electoral debut from the BJP stronghold, describing the by-election as a crucial step in promoting “alternative politics” in Bihar. He said a victory in Bankipur would strengthen the Jan Suraaj movement and renew hopes for political change in the state, while reaffirming his commitment to the party’s long-term vision.
