PM Modi’s Australia Visit Reflects Growing Strategic Partnership: Envoy

India’s High Commissioner to Australia, Nagesh Singh, has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Australia—his third in a decade—reflects the rapid growth of bilateral relations between the two countries. He noted that India and Australia have significantly strengthened their partnership over the past 10 years, upgrading ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2020 and expanding cooperation across defence, trade, investment, education, clean energy, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

Singh said the changing global geopolitical environment has brought India and Australia closer, with both nations sharing a common vision for a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region. He added that the two democracies are committed to promoting regional peace, stability, and prosperity while strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual strategic interest.

The envoy also highlighted the complementary strengths of the two countries, noting that Australia is rich in critical minerals and advanced technologies, while India offers a large market, manufacturing capabilities, and skilled human resources. Expressing confidence in the future of the partnership, Singh said both governments have ambitious plans to further deepen cooperation across multiple sectors in the years ahead.
