Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday launched the ‘Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku’ programme at Banaganapalle in Nandyal district by distributing secure Pattadar Passbooks to farmers. Addressing a public meeting, he said the coalition government is committed to protecting land ownership rights through transparent governance and resolving long-pending land disputes affecting farmers and property owners across the state.
The Chief Minister said the government had fulfilled its election promise by repealing the Land Titling Act, which he alleged had created uncertainty over land ownership. He announced that the new Pattadar Passbooks, featuring the State Emblem and enhanced security measures, would ensure greater transparency, authenticity, and error-free land records. The initiative, he said, is aimed at restoring public confidence in the state’s land administration system.
Naidu said the government plans to distribute nearly 72.70 lakh Pattadar Passbooks across 9,833 villages by March 2027. He also highlighted measures such as the Auto Mutation system for seamless property transfers, the completion of Records of Rights for Village Inam lands in 1,971 villages, and the resolution of several land disputes. Emphasising Rayalaseema’s development, he said the government is promoting industrial growth, water conservation through the Jaladhara programme, and scientific groundwater management to support sustainable agriculture and long-term water security.
