The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved more than 30 major proposals during its meeting in Amaravati, with a strong focus on drinking water, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, and education. Among the key decisions was the approval of 10 multi-village drinking water projects worth ₹9,355 crore, along with 2,943 additional drinking water schemes costing ₹1,811 crore to address water scarcity. The Cabinet also cleared modernization works for the Peddagedda reservoir command area and approved feeder channel projects in Kuppam and the Beeraganipalle reservoir.
The Cabinet also approved several measures related to Amaravati’s second phase of land pooling. Farmers from seven villages contributing land will receive a waiver of agricultural loans up to ₹1.5 lakh for loans taken before January 6, 2026. Annual lease payments for land-pooling farmers were increased by ₹3,000 for dry lands and ₹5,000 for wet lands, raising the total annual lease to ₹40,000 and ₹60,000, respectively. Additionally, ₹159 crore was sanctioned as compensation to the Endowments Department for 307 acres of Inam land, while land allocations were approved for projects by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), the Isha Foundation, the Art of Living Foundation, and the CII Global Leadership Center.
To boost tourism and investment, the Cabinet approved special incentives for hotels in Nellore, Kadapa, and Vijayawada, cleared an integrated amusement park in Kadapa, and allocated ₹50 crore for tourism promotion under the state’s new tourism policy. It also approved incentives for major investments, discussed a 63-acre logistics park in Tirupati district, sanctioned Ambedkar Gurukula Centres of Excellence in Visakhapatnam, Guntur, and Nellore, approved residential coaching for IIT-JEE and NEET aspirants, and cleared the establishment of a National Investigation Agency (NIA) Special Court in Visakhapatnam.
