Actor Dhanush on Friday announced the title of his much-awaited film with acclaimed director Vetrimaaran as ‘Thamizh Murugan’ and released its first-look promo. Sharing the video on social media, Dhanush described the film’s central character as the “eternal protector, warrior, king, and leader of the Tamil people and lands.” The project is being produced by Wunderbar Films in association with Production Miles To Go.
The first-look promo features a powerful visual of a commander seated on an elephant, holding a vel (spear) while leading an army into battle, hinting at a grand historical action drama. The film’s music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, while the story is based on writer Arivumathi’s book of the same name, which explores the history of Thamizh Murugan as documented in Sangam literature.
The announcement has generated significant excitement among fans, as Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have previously delivered several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, including Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, and Asuran. Their collaborations have earned multiple National Awards, with Dhanush winning Best Actor twice and Vetrimaaran receiving the Best Director honour, making Thamizh Murugan one of the most anticipated Tamil films in production.
