Nara Lokesh’s South Korea Visit Strengthens India–Korea Investment Ties

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh’s official visit to South Korea marked a significant step toward strengthening India–Republic of Korea relations, with a special focus on attracting investments to Andhra Pradesh. Invited by the South Korean government, Lokesh received a warm welcome from government officials and leading industrialists. Global companies such as LG extended a special invitation to their headquarters, where senior executives hosted a high-level reception in his honour.

During his official visit from July 5 to July 11, Lokesh met the leadership of more than 50 corporate organisations and invited them to explore investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. The tour began with an interaction with the Telugu community in Seoul and concluded with a roadshow for investors organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), showcasing the state’s industrial potential.

Recognising the importance of strengthening bilateral political and economic cooperation, South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially hosted the visit. Following discussions with Lokesh, leading Korean companies, including LG, Hyundai, Samsung and BNK Financial Group, assured that they would examine investment proposals for Andhra Pradesh. Representatives of various companies were impressed by Lokesh’s presentation highlighting the state’s industrial policies, world-class infrastructure and investor-friendly incentives offered by the coalition government.
