Pakistan Hikes Petrol and Diesel Prices Amid Rising Global Oil Costs

Pakistan has once again increased petrol and diesel prices as global crude oil prices continue to rise amid renewed tensions in the Middle East. According to a report by Dawn, the Pakistani government has raised the price of petrol by PKR 13.18 per litre and high-speed diesel by PKR 13.80 per litre. Officials said the revision was necessitated by the continued increase in international crude oil prices.

Following the latest hike, the price of petrol in Pakistan has reached PKR 310.71 per litre, while high-speed diesel now costs PKR 323.30 per litre. The Petroleum Division has announced that the revised prices came into effect immediately. Analysts believe the increase will further strain household budgets and add to the financial burden on consumers across the country.

Pakistan has witnessed several fuel price revisions in recent months due to fluctuations in global energy markets. Earlier this year, fuel prices saw sharp increases before easing temporarily. With international oil prices rising once again, the latest revision is expected to have a significant impact on transportation costs, inflation, and the overall cost of living in the country.
