The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to make key changes to Team India’s coaching staff in the coming weeks. According to reports, the board will review the current coaching setup after the completion of the Ireland and England tours. As part of this process, at least two members of head coach Gautam Gambhir’s support staff could reportedly part ways with the team.
Reports suggest that one of the senior support staff members has already held discussions with an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, while another coach is also expected to leave soon. However, sources indicate that these possible changes are not directly linked to the team’s recent performances but are believed to stem from internal factors that have been developing over the past few months.
Meanwhile, the appointment of VVS Laxman as head coach for the Zimbabwe tour and the 2026 Asian Games has also attracted attention. Cricket circles believe the move could reflect the BCCI’s long-term planning or its efforts to explore alternative coaching options as it prepares for future international assignments.
