Son Allegedly Shoots Father Dead Over ₹150 Crore Property Dispute in Ghaziabad

A businessman was allegedly shot dead by his son in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad following a dispute over family property worth an estimated ₹150 crore. The incident, which took place in Budhana village under the Modinagar police station limits, has shocked residents and drawn widespread attention due to the alleged motive behind the crime.

According to police, 52-year-old Hari Om Chaudhary owned a commercial market on the Delhi–Meerut Road along with around 75 bighas of land. His elder son, Nikhil, had reportedly been demanding that the entire property be transferred to his name. Investigators allege that after an argument on Wednesday night, Nikhil, who was reportedly intoxicated, opened fire on his father with an illegal pistol. Hari Om sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died before he could be taken to the hospital.

Police said the accused has a previous criminal record. Investigators claim that in 2018, Nikhil had also allegedly attempted to kill his younger brother during a separate shooting incident. The accused is currently absconding, and special police teams have been formed to trace and arrest him. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
