A 15-year-old national-level rifle shooter, Damayanti Sen, has gone missing in West Bengal, triggering a major police search. The teenager, a resident of Howrah, left her home on Thursday to buy a few household items but never returned. Her family later filed a missing person complaint, prompting police to launch an extensive search operation.
According to investigators, CCTV footage showed Damayanti at Platforms 4 and 5 of Howrah Railway Station. Although she was carrying her mobile phone, it has since become unreachable, adding to her family’s concern. Police have formed special teams and are examining CCTV footage while searching multiple locations to trace the young athlete.
Damayanti’s parents said she had recently been selected for the national team trials and was highly motivated about her shooting career. They also stated that there were no family disputes or issues that could explain her disappearance. Police are investigating all possible angles, including whether she left voluntarily or if she may have been abducted. The incident has drawn widespread attention across West Bengal and the country.
