A fresh COVID-19 case has been reported in Andhra Pradesh after a person from Bapatla district tested positive for the virus. Following the confirmation, officials at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur have been put on high alert. GGH Superintendent Dr. Durga Prasad stated that the patient is currently receiving advanced treatment under the supervision of specialist doctors, and that all necessary arrangements for handling COVID-19 cases have been completed.
To prevent the spread of the virus and provide immediate medical care, the hospital has set up special facilities. A dedicated COVID ward has been made available to isolate and treat infected patients. In addition, a separate COVID Outpatient (OP) department has been launched to examine patients showing symptoms of the virus, reducing contact between regular patients and suspected COVID cases.
Hospital authorities have instructed doctors to conduct free COVID tests immediately if any patient is suspected of having symptoms. Based on the test results, treatment will be started without delay. Health officials have also urged the public to remain cautious and follow necessary preventive measures.
