When hair starts falling excessively, many people immediately blame their shampoo. They often switch to a new brand or change shampoos frequently, thinking it will solve the problem. However, according to dermatologists, shampoo is not usually the direct cause of hair fall in most cases.
Shampoo mainly acts as a cleanser that removes dirt, sweat, oil, and dust accumulated on the scalp and hair. Experts explain that it does not penetrate deep into the hair follicles in a way that would normally damage them and cause hair loss.
It is also important to understand the difference between hair fall and hair breakage. Many people consider them the same, but they are different conditions. Sometimes, certain ingredients in shampoos or excessive dryness can cause hair strands to break in the middle, which is known as hair breakage. This is not the same as hair falling out from the roots. Therefore, simply changing shampoo may not solve the real problem behind excessive hair loss.
