Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza expressed his disappointment after his team’s heavy loss to India in the second T20I. He praised the Indian batters for their outstanding performance, saying that although Zimbabwe’s bowlers showed promise at times, India’s aggressive stroke play made the difference. Raza also admitted that Zimbabwe needs to improve its fielding to support the bowlers better.
Raza reserved special praise for Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma, stating that their batting was a lesson for his team. He highlighted Ishan’s impressive consistency at No. 3, saying that batting in that position is challenging, but the Indian batter made it look effortless with his excellent form.
Speaking about the 220-run chase, Raza said Zimbabwe entered the match believing they could achieve the target. While the openers provided a solid start, inexperience and poor shot selection led to a collapse. The skipper accepted full responsibility for the defeat, admitting he had failed to contribute with the bat in the last two T20Is. He promised to bounce back in the next match and play an innings that would help his team.
