Excise officials carried out extensive raids against illegal gudumba manufacturers in several villages across Dasturabad and Kadem mandals of Nirmal district. The raids were conducted under the directions of the Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise for Adilabad and Nirmal.
During the operations, officials registered five cases and arrested two people. They seized 9 litres of illegally manufactured gudumba and destroyed around 1,300 litres of jaggery-based fermenting material, according to Prohibition and Excise Inspector Rangaswamy.
The raids were conducted in Munyal Thanda, Yerraguntapally and Revojipet villages in Dasturabad mandal, as well as Rangapur village in Kadem mandal. Excise officials said action against illegal liquor manufacturing would continue as part of efforts to curb the production and sale of gudumba in the district.
