Devdutt Padikkal Smashes Brilliant Century Against Sri Lanka

Indian batter Devdutt Padikkal produced a stunning century in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. Taking on the Lankan bowlers confidently, Padikkal entertained the crowd with a wide range of attacking shots. He reached his century in just 134 balls, including nine boundaries and a six.

India, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and received a solid start from the opening pair. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 32 before being run out, while KL Rahul was forced to retire hurt on 77 due to an injury. Padikkal then took responsibility at the crease and kept the scoreboard moving.

Padikkal showed excellent composure against both Sri Lanka’s pace and spin attacks. Displaying confidence throughout his innings, he countered the bowlers’ strategies effectively and laid a strong foundation for India to post a big total in the Test.
