BRS Leader Naradasu Lakshman Rao Accuses Congress Government Over Gold Promise

BRS former MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao has strongly criticised the Congress government, alleging that it came to power by making a high-profile promise to provide one tola of gold for the marriage of daughters but has now failed to honour that commitment. He accused the government of resorting to conspiracies instead of fulfilling its election promise.

Lakshman Rao alleged that the government, unable to provide the promised one tola of gold, was also trying to undermine the implementation of the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes. He claimed that the government had allegedly filed a case through the back channel in the High Court and secured a stay to halt the schemes.

The former MLC demanded clarity from the government on the issue and questioned its approach towards welfare schemes meant to support families during marriages. He said the government should fulfil its election promises instead of creating obstacles for beneficiaries.
