Nepal is witnessing severe disruption to normal life due to continuous heavy rainfall across the Himalayan nation. With the monsoon remaining active in several parts of the country, major rivers are flowing at high levels and approaching dangerous thresholds. Authorities have issued strong warnings to residents in the central, western and eastern regions amid concerns over possible flooding.
Water levels in the Sun Koshi River in Sindhuli district, Budhi Gandaki River in Gorkha district and Mahakali River in Dadeldhura district have crossed warning levels. Officials are closely monitoring the situation as rainfall continues and river flows remain high.
The Flood Forecasting Division has expressed particular concern over the Marsyangdi River in Lamjung district, where the water flow has already crossed the danger level and continues to rise. Authorities have urged people living near rivers and vulnerable areas to remain alert and follow official safety advisories.
