Krunal Pandya Reacts After Missing Out on India’s Afghanistan T20I Squad

The BCCI has announced India’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, but all-rounder Krunal Pandya has once again missed out on selection. Despite his impressive performances in the recent IPL season, there had been strong speculation that he could make a comeback to the Indian team. However, the selectors opted not to include him in the squad.

Krunal Pandya has now reacted to the setback with a cryptic social media post. Following the squad announcement, he shared the message “Hope is still alive” along with a fingers-crossed and Indian flag emoji. His post has been interpreted as a sign that the 35-year-old all-rounder has not given up on his hopes of making a return to international cricket.

Krunal last represented India in 2021, but his strong IPL 2026 campaign helped bring him back into discussions for a national recall. He scored 226 runs and claimed 14 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the season. Despite those performances, the selectors have chosen other options for the Afghanistan series. Krunal’s latest message, however, suggests that he remains determined to earn another opportunity with Team India.
