The helicopter crashed in a parking lot near a self-storage facility close to the intersection of Northoff Street and De Soto Avenue in the San Fernando Valley. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, three fatalities were confirmed at the scene, while the injured person was taken to a hospital. Details about the person’s condition were not immediately available.
Fire Captain Branden Silverman said at least one of those killed may have been a pedestrian who was on the ground at the time of the crash rather than someone inside the helicopter. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
