A tragic incident has been reported from Devipatnam mandal in Polavaram district of Andhra Pradesh. Two women from the tribal villages of Damanapalli and Bornagudem, in the Rampachodavaram Agency area, died by suicide within a few days of each other. According to local reports, both women were allegedly in a relationship with the same man.
A woman from Damanapalli reportedly died on September 13 after setting herself on fire. Less than four days later, another 34-year-old woman from Bornagudem allegedly died by suicide by hanging. Locals claimed that a dispute between the two women over the man had led to a confrontation on September 12, during which they allegedly attacked each other.
Devipatnam police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incidents. Police are conducting a detailed inquiry at the local level to determine the circumstances surrounding the two deaths and establish the exact reasons behind them.
