The final general body meeting of the MPTC members was held at the Rajolu Mandal Parishad on Wednesday. With the tenure of the MPTCs set to end on September 23, the meeting was chaired by MPP Kadali Sridevi. Rajolu MLA Deva Varaprasad attended the meeting as the chief guest.
Several MPTC members expressed disappointment that they could not carry out development works on the expected scale during their five-year tenure. They said a shortage of funds and limitations in official powers had affected their ability to address local issues and undertake development projects in their respective villages.
The members became emotional while recalling instances when residents approached them with problems that they were unable to resolve. They said it was particularly difficult to face people when they could not provide solutions despite their efforts during their tenure.
