After scoring just 10 runs in the opening match, his selection over young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had come under criticism, with questions raised over the decision.
Samson put those concerns to rest with an explosive knock in the second encounter. He smashed 57 runs off just 22 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes in an aggressive display. His innings provided Team India with crucial momentum and put the spotlight back on his batting ability.
