Actor Manchu Vishnu has approached the Supreme Court seeking the quashing of a case registered against him for alleged violations of the Model Code of Conduct during the 2019 general elections.
The Supreme Court took up preliminary hearing of the petition today and issued notices to the respondents. The bench, headed by Justice B.V. Nagarathna, ordered the issuance of notices and adjourned the matter for further hearing.
The case pertains to accusations that Manchu Vishnu had breached the Model Code of Conduct during the 2019 general elections. In his petition, he has requested relief from these allegations. The bench, while hearing the matter, acknowledged the plea and directed that notices be served to the individuals named as respondents in the case.
