It is well known that a film titled Spirit is being planned with Rebel Star Prabhas and prominent director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Initially, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had considered Deepika Padukone as the female lead for the film. However, she was later dropped from the project. Reports emerged that Deepika was removed because she imposed several conditions.
Recently, Triptii Dimri, known for her role in Animal, has been finalized to replace Deepika Padukone in the project. In response, it is reported that Deepika Padukone’s public relations team leaked the story of Spirit. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was reportedly furious over this and expressed his displeasure towards Deepika Padukone and her PR team. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he severely criticized what he called “dirty PR games.” As a result, Deepika Padukone’s name has been trending heavily online in recent days.
In this context, Deepika Padukone recently spoke in an interview about why she stepped away from Spirit. She stated, “Recently, a director met me and narrated a story. I really liked the story. However, when the discussion turned to remuneration, I quoted my charge. They did not agree to it. That’s why I said no to them. I know my track record. That is why I did not accept the film,” said Deepika.
Meanwhile, it is now being reported that the Bollywood actress has been selected as the female lead in an upcoming major project featuring the combination of director Atlee and actor Allu Arjun. It is worth noting that Deepika Padukone recently greeted Telugu audiences through the film Kalki. Now, she is set to collaborate with Allu Arjun.
