Amaravati Will Be a Major Revenue Source for Andhra Pradesh: Chandrababu..

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that the criticism currently being directed at the construction of Amaravati is similar to the allegations he faced during the development of Cyberabad when he was the Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh. He alleged that political opponents are criticizing the Amaravati project out of jealousy, as they believe he will gain personal recognition even though government funds are not being spent on it.

In an interview with a national media outlet in New Delhi yesterday, Nara Chandrababu Naidu shared his views on the Amaravati capital project and his son Nara Lokesh’s political future.

Recalling past experiences, Nara Chandrababu Naidu said, “Congress leaders at the time accused me of spending all the state’s money on Cyberabad. But even then, I created resources for the state without spending government funds. Today, 75 percent of Telangana’s revenue comes from Hyderabad as a result of those efforts.” He asserted that a similar approach is being taken with Amaravati, where no government funds are being spent.

He stated that 33,000 acres of land were voluntarily contributed by farmers. “Through those lands, we are generating income and involving farmers as partners in the city’s development. This enables them to gain economic benefits. Some leaders are unable to accept the fact that farmers voluntarily gave up their land, and that is why they are making unnecessary criticisms,” said Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He expressed confidence that Amaravati would become a significant revenue source for the state in the future.

“When something comes to my attention, it stays in my mind. I cannot rest until I bring it to fruition,” he said, describing his determination. He alleged that his opponents are not criticizing the projects for their quality but are doing so because they fear he will gain recognition from them.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of youth entering politics. Speaking about his son Nara Lokesh, he said, “After completing higher education at Stanford, Lokesh chose the path of public service. He is constantly working hard to prove himself in politics. Let him continue his efforts. No one can stop change. However, it is essential to produce good leaders.”
