Manchu Vishnu’s pan-India film, ‘Kannappa,’ is set for a worldwide release on June 27. Currently, the post-production work is progressing rapidly to ensure the film hits the release date as planned. Recently, the news about a missing hard disk has become a hot topic. This prompting Vishnu to file a complaint with the police. At a promotional media event held in Chennai on Friday, Vishnu addressed the issue of the missing hard drive. When questioned about it, he alleged that two individuals named Raghu and Charitha were responsible for the disappearance.
Kannappa Hard Disk Case: Is Manoj the suspect?
He expressed his suspicion that both of them might work at his brother Manoj’s residence. Vishnu mentioned that he was uncertain if they took the hard disk intentionally. Or, if it was merely a misunderstanding. He kindly requested that the focus remain on discussing the film and asked the media to refrain from asking questions related to family matters. He acknowledged that everyone faces issues in their homes, referencing difficulties in Sri Ramachandra’s house, yet emphasized that he personally had no problems.
Vishnu stated that the missing hard disk contained VFX data for some scenes from the film ‘Kannappa.’ He explained that there are three copies of the digital version in Hollywood and two copies in Hyderabad. The copies are distributed separately. One goes to the DIT technician, and the other goes to the office. He mentioned that everyone involved in a project typically uses a safety drive, which is a common practice.
In total, eight companies in India are working on the CG for ‘Kannappa,’ with two additional companies involved abroad. The work is being conducted in various locations. The locations include Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Vishnu explained that the issue came to light after a reporter discovered that the hard disk had been reported missing by the police. He did not wish for this information to be revealed. He further clarified that if color grading was done in Mumbai, the results could be downloaded at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. However, when the output was initially sent, it did not turn out correctly, so the hard drive containing those scenes was couriered. Unfortunately, he stated that the hard drive did not reach either the production house or the color grading company.
