Director Hanu Raghavapudi revealed that the intentional inclusion of Sanskrit Shlokas in the title announcement for Prabhas’s upcoming film, ‘Fauzi,‘ was to impart “gravity and meaning” to the historical action film’s warrior narrative. While the film is not a mythological epic, the shlokas reflect a philosophical inspiration drawn from the Bhagavad Gita. Raghavapudi clarified that ‘Fauzi’ is fundamentally a powerful patriotic drama exploring complex human emotions and socio-political tensions set during the British era, with themes that remain relevant even today.
‘Fauzi,‘ set in the 1940s, marks Prabhas’s significant return to a grand period drama, a genre where he previously excelled with ‘Baahubali.’ The film is being crafted as a large-scale cinematic experience, focusing on the protagonist’s courage and inner turmoil, with Prabhas taking on a complex character grappling with duty, emotion, and ideology. The cast also features veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander, and Jayapradha, alongside actress Imanvi as the female lead.
The technical crew for this highly anticipated film includes cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee and lyricist Krishna Kanth. Notably, the music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, a frequent collaborator of Raghavapudi who also scored the music for the director’s blockbuster hit ‘Sita Ramam.’ The film, which has already generated significant excitement among fans, is slated for a multi-language theatrical release next year.
