Relief for NRI MBBS Students at Tirupati SVIMS: TTD Reduces Fee Duration…

In a significant move that eases the financial burden on medical aspirants, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a major relief for NRI students pursuing MBBS at the Sri Padmavati Medical College for Women, an affiliate of SVIMS. The management has officially decided to collect tuition fees for a duration of four and a half years instead of the previous five-year requirement. This change aligns the fee structure directly with the actual duration of the academic course.

The decision follows a formal request made by students and parents of the 2021-22 batch to TTD Executive Officer (EO) M. Ravichandra. They highlighted that while the MBBS course spans four and a half years, they were being charged for a full five years. After reviewing the latest guidelines issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on April 7, the EO responded positively and issued orders to adjust the fee collection policy to match the prescribed medical curriculum.

This new policy will be implemented immediately for the 2021-22 batch, who are currently in their final year of study. TTD officials have confirmed that this student-friendly measure will also be extended to all future batches, ensuring a standardized and fair fee system moving forward. The order is set to be presented before the SVIMS Executive Body for formal ratification in their upcoming meeting.
