Former Minister and BRS senior leader T. Harish Rao launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, dismissing allegations regarding his recent trip to the national capital. Speaking to the media in Delhi, Harish Rao asserted that his visit was strictly professional and intended for legal consultations. He clarified that he came to consult legal experts regarding the MLA defection cases and noted that the ‘Cash for Vote’ case was scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court, where the BRS party has sought to implead itself. He emphasized that there were no “secrets” involved, as he traveled openly from Shamshabad airport.
Harish Rao countered the Chief Minister’s accusations by claiming that Revanth Reddy is the true “expert” at clandestine meetings. He alleged that while Revanth Reddy meets Rahul Gandhi at night, he surreptitiously meets Union Ministers, BJP, and RSS leaders in the early hours of the morning. Harish Rao stated that the Chief Minister’s claims were born out of jealousy and frustration over the legal hurdles his government is facing. He further ridiculed the CM’s “secret lobbying” narrative, calling it a classic example of Revanth Reddy projecting his own political habits onto others.
Comparing the public reception of political leaders, Harish Rao pointed to the recent public meetings held by BRS chief KCR in Jagtial and CM Revanth Reddy in Nasturpalli. He claimed that the viewership numbers clearly demonstrated where the public’s loyalty lies, stating that while 3.6 million people watched KCR’s speech, Revanth Reddy’s address didn’t even reach 10% of that audience, with only 400,000 viewers. Harish Rao concluded that the people of Telangana understand the difference in stature between the two leaders and are no longer swayed by the Chief Minister’s “baseless leaks” and “meaningless talk.”
