YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has reacted sharply to the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to dismiss Kakarla Venkatarami Reddy, the former president of the AP Secretariat Employees Association, from service. Jagan alleged that the move is a clear act of political vendetta by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He argued that Venkatarami Reddy is being punished simply for demanding the fulfillment of election promises and the release of pending benefits like DA, PRC, and IR for government employees.
Jagan criticized the government for using what he termed “Red Book Constitution” tactics to suppress dissenting voices. He questioned the disparity in rules, pointing out that no action was taken against former AP NGO president Ashok Babu when he campaigned against the BJP in Karnataka while still in government service. Jagan accused the TDP-led government of maintaining one set of rules for their supporters and another for others, calling it a sign of dictatorial governance.
The former Chief Minister further attacked the government’s performance, stating that even after two years, major promises like “Super Six,” the creation of 20 lakh jobs, and unemployment benefits remain unfulfilled. He also highlighted the dissolution of the volunteer system and the increased pressure on secretariat staff as major failures. Jagan concluded that the government’s fear of being questioned is driving these retaliatory measures against employee leaders who stand up for their rights.
