Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu chaired the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting on Thursday, where the council of ministers gave the green signal to 41 key proposals across various departments. A significant focus was placed on accelerating the construction of the capital city, Amaravati, with the cabinet approving administrative sanctions exceeding ₹4,500 crore for Secretariat towers, twin towers, and Assembly building works. Additionally, the cabinet approved the construction of a new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi with ₹124.5 crore to reflect the state’s culture.

In a major administrative move, the Cabinet decided to upgrade the posts of 385 constables who had been waiting for promotions for 23 years, elevating them to Head Constables. To strengthen the judicial system, the creation of 21 new posts in various courts across the state was approved. Furthermore, a uniform auto-mutation system for property taxes in municipalities was introduced to streamline local administration and enhance infrastructure.

The government also demonstrated a humanitarian approach toward farmers and displaced persons from the Polavaram project. The Cabinet approved the proposal to increase the annuity for farmers who gave their land under the Land Pooling Scheme for Amaravati. For Polavaram displaced families, the unit cost for building their own houses was increased to ₹3.57 lakh, and the grant for those building houses outside R&R colonies was raised to ₹2 lakh. Additionally, land allotments were approved for several organizations and industrial hubs in districts like Prakasam and Chittoor to boost local development.
