CM Vijay to Mark First Birthday in Office with Constituency Outreach, MLA Office Inauguration

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader C. Joseph Vijay is planning a distinct approach to celebrate his upcoming 52nd birthday on June 22, marking his first birthday since assuming the state’s highest executive office. Departing from conventional high-profile political or cinema-style celebrations, the actor-turned-politician intends to dedicate the day to public-centric initiatives aimed directly at serving his constituents.

According to party and government sources, the Chief Minister’s primary agenda for his birthday is the grand inauguration of his newly established MLA office in Vyasarpadi, located within the Perambur Assembly constituency. Vijay, who won from both Perambur and Tiruchi East in the recent Assembly elections, subsequently vacated the Tiruchi East seat to retain Perambur. The new office is designed to serve as a functional public outreach hub, equipped with facilities to streamline public grievance redressal, and even features accommodation amenities so the Chief Minister can stay overnight during official constituency visits and review meetings.

To reinforce his accessibility and commitment to grassroots governance, Vijay is also set to launch a dedicated monthly public interaction program in Perambur on the same day. Under this initiative, one day every month will be reserved exclusively for him to sit down with residents, interact with locals, and personally receive petitions to ensure prompt follow-up action on genuine grievances. Local party functionaries noted that the day will feature a simple cake-cutting ceremony with local residents, emphasizing Vijay’s broader effort to balance his administrative duties as Chief Minister with active, on-the-ground constituency engagement.
