Hyderabad to Unveil ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ on June 23

HYDERABAD:
In a significant diplomatic and symbolic gesture, the Telangana government has announced the renaming of a prominent road in the city’s Financial District to Donald Trump Avenue’. The road, which currently serves as the access route to the United States Consulate in Nanakramguda, will be officially inaugurated on **June 23, 2026**.

Key Highlights of the Event

Official Unveiling The road renaming will be marked by a high-level ceremony attended by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the United States Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor
Strategic Significance: The move is intended to acknowledge the robust economic ties between Hyderabad and the United States. The city has emerged as a premier destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with major Fortune 500 companies—including Costco, Eli Lilly, HCA Healthcare, and McDonald’s—establishing significant footprints in the region.

Diplomatic Gesture: The inauguration is timed to coincide with the lead-up to the U.S. Independence Day celebrations on July 4, underscoring the strengthening of bilateral relations.

Driving Innovation and Investment

The decision is part of a broader government initiative to position Telangana as a global symbol of an “innovation-driven India.” Beyond this tribute, the state government has announced plans to name additional roads after other global technology giants, including Google and Microsoft, to honor their contributions to Hyderabad’s status as a leading global IT powerhouse.

The proposal, which was first floated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in Delhi last year, aims to solidify Hyderabad’s role in attracting future investments, driving job creation, and fostering mutual growth between the two nations.
