Yadagirigutta Trust Board Appointments Trigger Rift in Telangana Congress

The appointment of members to the Yadagirigutta Devasthanam Trust Board has sparked internal unrest within the Telangana Congress, with dissatisfaction reportedly spreading beyond Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy to several senior party leaders, including Endowments Minister Konda Surekha. The minister skipped Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, and while her office cited health reasons after her return from London, party sources said she was unhappy over not being consulted on appointments related to her own department.

According to Congress sources, this is the second time Konda Surekha has allegedly been kept out of key decisions concerning the Endowments Department. Earlier, during the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, she had reportedly expressed reservations over the involvement of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in matters related to tenders and contract allocations. The latest developments have further intensified differences within the party.

Several senior Congress leaders from the erstwhile Nalgonda district have also voiced their displeasure, claiming the appointments were made without consulting local leadership. Party sources said the issue has already been discussed with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, who assured that the concerns would be addressed. Senior leaders are also expected to take the matter to AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, raising the possibility of the controversy escalating further within the party.
