Actor Vijay Deverakonda has stressed the need to promote sports in India and create better opportunities for young athletes. Speaking about his association with volleyball, the actor said it is time to encourage more youngsters to take up sports and make it financially rewarding so that talented players can build secure careers and gain the recognition they deserve. He said supporting sports is a collective responsibility and highlighted the immense potential of Indian athletes.
Vijay’s remarks come after the Indian men’s volleyball team created history by winning its first-ever bronze medal at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Men’s Cup. The achievement has renewed focus on the growth of volleyball in India and the importance of building a strong professional ecosystem to help players compete at the international level. As co-owner of a volleyball franchise, Vijay has consistently supported the sport and backed emerging volleyball talent.
Apart from his contributions to sports, Vijay Deverakonda has been involved in several social initiatives, including Annadanam drives, scholarships for deserving students and financial assistance through the Middle-Class Fund. He also serves as the brand ambassador of the TG20 League, promoting young cricketing talent. On the film front, the actor is set to appear in Ranabaali, VDxShoryuv, and Rowdy Janardhana.
