A team of officials from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) inspected the proposed Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) project site at the Donakonda Mega Industrial Hub in Andhra Pradesh’s Darsi constituency on Friday. District Collector P. Rajababu accompanied the team and briefed them on the site’s infrastructure, available facilities, and future expansion potential.
Following the site visit, the DRDO officials held a review meeting at the Donakonda MPDO office, where the proposed project was presented through a detailed PowerPoint presentation. The team examined key aspects, including land availability, transport connectivity, water supply, and power infrastructure required for establishing the defence manufacturing unit.
District Collector Rajababu said the state government is giving high priority to industrial development and assured full support for the project by ensuring coordination among various government departments. He added that once established, the BDL project is expected to significantly boost industrial growth in the region, generating around 500 direct jobs and nearly 2,000 indirect employment opportunities.
