Amid growing military tensions in West Asia and concerns over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the war of words between the United States and Iran has intensified. Iran has strongly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims that negotiations between the two countries are making progress. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and a key figure in Iran’s negotiations, dismissed Trump’s remarks and criticized Washington’s approach.
Ghalibaf described the U.S. strategy as “theater diplomacy,” accusing Washington of combining threats with public claims of dialogue. He said that intimidation and diplomatic theatrics would not produce meaningful results and reiterated that Iran would not yield to pressure.
The renewed exchange comes at a time when the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes, remains at the center of regional tensions. Analysts warn that any further escalation in the region could disrupt global energy supplies and international trade. The latest statements from both sides have added to concerns over stability in the Middle East.
