Vehicles without valid number plates will no longer be able to get petrol or diesel in Rajkot, Gujarat. Authorities have banned fuel stations in the city from selling fuel to vehicles that do not display a number plate. Officials said Rajkot is the first city in Gujarat to introduce such a rule.
The new directive has come into immediate effect and will remain in force for two months. The order applies to all types of vehicles operating within the city, and authorities have clarified that there will be no exemptions under the rule.
The move is aimed at encouraging vehicle owners to comply with registration and number-plate regulations. Petrol pump operators have been instructed to strictly follow the directive, while vehicle owners without number plates may face difficulties in refuelling until they comply with the requirement.
