India star pacer Mohammed Siraj has been given a key responsibility ahead of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. The Hyderabad Cricket Association’s senior selection committee has appointed Siraj as the captain of the Hyderabad team, while Chama Milind has been named vice-captain.
India will begin a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan on September 13. Siraj has not been selected for the series, which could allow him to be available for Hyderabad during the Ranji Trophy season.
Siraj also led Hyderabad in two matches during the previous Ranji Trophy season. His appointment as captain is expected to add experience and leadership to the Hyderabad side.
