On the 15th anniversary of the historic Million March, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) paid a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of the Telangana movement. Remembering March 10, 2011, KTR took to social media to highlight how millions of voices converged at Tank Bund, Hyderabad, to demand a separate state. He noted that despite severe government restrictions, iron fences, and heavy police barricades, the unwavering determination of the protesters turned the event into a pivotal turning point in the history of the region.
The Million March is remembered as a symbol of mass defiance where people from all walks of life broke through security cordons to reach the heart of the city. KTR emphasized that no amount of detention or logistical obstacles could dampen the fervor of the activists on that day. This unified “People’s Roar” served as a powerful message to the national leadership, demonstrating that the aspiration for a separate Telangana was an unstoppable force rooted in the collective will of its citizens.
As the state marks this 15-year milestone, KTR urged everyone to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of a sovereign state. He concluded his message by stating that the echoes of “Jai Telangana” from that day continue to inspire future generations. The Million March remains a testament to the power of democratic protest and stands as a foundational pillar upon which the dream of a separate Telangana state was eventually realized.
