BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has welcomed the Telangana High Court’s verdict regarding the Kaleshwaram Project and the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission report. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, KTR stated that the court’s decision has delivered a fitting blow to those who carried out a smear campaign against former CM KCR. He emphasized that the verdict represents a victory for the people of Telangana, the farming community, and the engineers who dedicated their efforts to this massive project.
KTR lashed out at the Congress government, accusing them of engaging in a malicious propaganda campaign over the last three years. He remarked that it was not the Kaleshwaram Project that collapsed, but rather the “conspiracies of the Congress party.” KTR asserted that every drop of water flowing through Telangana today is a result of KCR’s vision and hard work, and as long as the Godavari River flows on this land, KCR’s legacy remains indelible in history.
Defending the project’s significance, KTR clarified that Kaleshwaram is not just a single barrage but a comprehensive system including three major barrages that serve as a lifeline for the state. He condemned the misinformation regarding the project’s cost and alleged that the issues at the Medigadda Barrage were a result of Congress’s political schemes. He further questioned the Centre’s silence on incidents where check dams were reportedly being targeted, reiterating that Kaleshwaram remains an essential asset for Telangana’s prosperity.
