Chandrababu Serious Over Pithapuram Protocol Row; Displeased with TDP Leader Varma’s Conduct

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the recent protocol dispute between TDP and Janasena leaders in Pithapuram. The conflict erupted during a Pithapuram Area Development Authority (PADA) meeting when TDP in-charge SVSN Varma noticed the absence of the Chief Minister’s photo on a promotional flexi. The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument and physical shoving between Varma and Janasena leader Pendem Dorababu, with videos of the incident going viral on social media.

Reacting sharply to the incident, the Chief Minister reportedly telephoned TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao to seek an explanation. Naidu emphasized that such public displays of friction between alliance partners damage the coalition’s image and must not be repeated. He specifically took issue with Varma’s conduct, noting that while protocol is important, resorting to public altercations over minor issues like photos is inappropriate for seasoned political leaders.

The Chief Minister has directed Palla Srinivasa Rao to issue clear instructions to SVSN Varma regarding internal discipline. Naidu clarified that any grievances or procedural lapses should be brought to the notice of the party leadership or government heads rather than being settled in the streets. Following the incident, the TDP high command has stepped in to de-escalate tensions between the cadres of both parties and ensure that the alliance remains cohesive.
