Kavitha Clarifies Future of ‘Telangana Jagruthi’ Following Launch of New Political Party

Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the President of the newly formed Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS), has officially clarified that Telangana Jagruthi will transition into a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Speaking at a ‘Meet the Press’ event at the Basheerbagh Press Club, she explained that while her political activities will be channeled through her new party, Telangana Jagruthi will continue its service-oriented programs independently as an NGO. This move aims to separate her long-standing cultural and social work from her direct political ambitions.

The new political outfit, which was initially announced as Telangana Rashtra Sena but approved by the Election Commission as Telangana Rakshana Sena, will primarily target the Gen Z youth. Kavitha outlined a visionary agenda titled “Panchajanyam,” focusing on “Sarvodaya Telangana”. Key promises include the provision of free quality education and healthcare for the poor, along with the creation of one lakh supernumerary jobs specifically for those who participated in the Telangana statehood movement. She also emphasized special provisions for the elderly through geriatric departments and a strong focus on women’s empowerment.

Kavitha launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that his administration is controlled by leaders in Delhi. She criticized the government’s failure in grain procurement and the lack of basic facilities for the disabled in the new Secretariat. To challenge the current Congress government, she unveiled a 1,000-day action plan to mobilize public support across the state. Furthermore, she pledged that her party would provide legal support to those displaced by land acquisition projects, positioning the Telangana Rakshana Sena as a defensive voice for the people’s rights.
