Case Registered: Professor K. Nageshwar Booked in Andhra Pradesh Over TV Debate Remarks Against Amit Shah and Pawan Kalyan

A police case has been officially registered against prominent political analyst and Professor K. Nageshwar in Andhra Pradesh. The action follows a formal complaint lodged by Janasena Party cadres, who alleged that the analyst made derogatory and unverified remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and state Minister Nadendla Manohar during a recent television debate. Based on the complaint, the Indrapalem Police Station in Kakinada district booked Professor Nageshwar alongside the respective television channel that broadcast the program.

According to the details outlined in the Janasena complaint, Professor Nageshwar stated during the live debate that Pawan Kalyan and Nadendla Manohar had previously met Amit Shah in Delhi to request the arrest of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He further claimed that Amit Shah responded by saying that politics involves both “instant friends” and “long-term friends,” labeling N. Chandrababu Naidu as an instant friend and Jagan as a long-term ally. Nageshwar alleged that the Home Minister advised them to alter their stance, pointing out that Jagan consistently supports them in Delhi with his 25 Members of Parliament (MPs).

Janasena party workers strongly contended in their complaint that Professor Nageshwar falsely attributed statements to Union Home Minister Amit Shah that were never uttered, thereby deliberately misleading the general public. As the controversial remarks sparked a major political row across the state, the local police formally accepted the grievance, initiated a legal case under relevant sections against both Professor Nageshwar and the broadcasting TV channel, and commenced a thorough investigation into the matter.
