Official Certification and Runtime Details
The highly anticipated rustic sports drama Peddi, starring Global Star Ram Charan, has officially completed its censorship formalities. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the film with a U/A 16+ certificate, making it suitable for viewers aged sixteen and above without mandatory adult supervision. The major talking point in the industry is the film’s extensive locked runtime, which stands at 3 hours and 9 minutes (189 minutes). Despite the lengthy duration, director Buchi Babu Sana and the creative team have retained this heavy runtime, expressing immense confidence in the gripping narrative.
Minor Content Trims and Directorial Vision
During the screening, the censor board suggested a few minor modifications to ensure smooth theatrical distribution. These cuts included muting or altering six specific words, alongside removing references to a particular community and the word “Rajasthan.” However, these precise edits did not alter the core structure, leaving the final runtime completely intact. Following his blockbuster debut Uppena, this marks Buchi Babu Sana’s sophomore feature, tracking an intense, emotional character journey of a village athlete fighting for his identity across multiple sports.
Star Cast and Upcoming Worldwide Release
The production standards of the movie remain massive, featuring an ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor—who portrays a pivotal character named ‘Achiyamma’—alongside Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Boman Irani, and Divyenndu. Backed jointly by Vriddhi Cinemas and IVY Entertainment, the promotional material and recent trailer launch in Mumbai have already generated considerable buzz across trade circles. Sticking firmly to its original schedule, Peddi is locked for a grand worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
