Nandamuri Balakrishna Celebrates Birthday At Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital

Tollywood’s veteran actor and Hindupur MLA, Nandamuri Balakrishna, celebrated his birthday in a meaningful way by participating in the Silver Jubilee (25 years) celebrations of the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital. Attending the event as the chief guest, Balakrishna chose to cut his birthday cake surrounded by children who are fighting cancer. Demonstrating his compassionate side, he personally fed the cake to the young patients, distributed special gifts, and spent quality time encouraging them to stay strong in their battles against the disease.

The Evolution Of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital

Reflecting on the hospital’s long journey, Balakrishna recalled how his father, the legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), laid the foundation stone for the institution back in 1989. Although construction was delayed due to unavoidable reasons, the hospital finally opened its doors in the year 2000. He highlighted its massive transformation from a modest 40-bed facility at inception to a premier 715-bed state-of-the-art mega hospital today, ranking among the top five best specialized cancer hospitals in India due to the dedicated efforts of its staff.

Age Is Just A Number For The Star

Expressing his gratitude to the doctors and support staff who contributed to the hospital’s success, Balakrishna also touched upon his own lifestyle, fitness, and relentless energy. He stated that in his view, age is merely a number, and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the public in politics and entertaining audiences through cinema with the same unstoppable enthusiasm. The event concluded with hospital management, medical staff, and numerous fans gathering to shower the actor-politician with warm birthday wishes.
